jEM Program Highlights

The jEM Program was created in 2009 by the Office for Business & Community Economic Development to help youths from the urban Twin Cities develop a relationship with the University of Minnesota, which exposes them to leadership development initiatives and exciting learning opportunities.

The objectives of jEM are to:

  • Inspire the next generation of leaders in the Twin Cities
  • Foster and develop talented youths by leveraging University resources
  • Promote a knowledge ecosystem that is reflective of the diversity of the students
  • Recruit aspiring high school students to the University of Minnesota
  • Assist in the incubation of youth enterprise(s) in a supportive environment
  • Connect small business communities with intellectually curious youths

With the resources of the University of Minnesota and the help of our partners, we hope to make sustainable differences in Minneapolis/St. Paul community and encourage the next generation of leadership to emerge through our programs.
