Nonprofit Organizational Assessments

Nonprofit Organizational Assessments are designed to provide an in-depth view of the organization through the evaluation of eight core competencies:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Social Entrepreneurship/Culture
  • Resource Development
  • Board Governance
  • Outcome Measurement
  • Marketing
  • Financial Management
  • Volunteer Management.

The Assessment is prepared by the Office for Business & Community Economic Development through the use of a Nonprofit Organizational Assessment Tool, by which interviews are conducted with individual respondents of the organization around the eight core competencies.  The collected data is then synthesized into a Final Report presented to the organization to provide information and recommendations that would assist the nonprofit in:

  • Developing its capacity and improving its organizational effectiveness
  • Strengthening the programs and services provided to its membership
  • Identifying the strengths and challenges/opportunities of the organization
