Description

Does your team need extra help with projects this summer? Are you interested in introducing young people to your career field? Do you want to support diversity, inclusion and equity work on campus and across our region? Consider hiring a Step Up high school intern! Learn more about Step Up at the U of M here

The Step Up Youth Employment Program prepares today’s youth for tomorrow’s careers by recruiting, training and placing nearly 1,400 Minneapolis students (ages 14-21) in paid internships each year. Step Up leverages a collective of more than 200 partners spanning 15 industries and multiple sectors, helping organizations diversify their workforce and building a base of young, skilled workers for the entire region. Step Up is a partnership of the City of Minneapolis, AchieveMpls, CareerForce Minneapolis and Project for Pride in Living.

Join us for a brown-bag lunch session to learn more about this life-changing program.

We'll provide:

  • Key information about Step Up and its many benefits for employers and young people
  • First-hand stories from former Step Up supervisors at the U of M
  • Examples of the kinds of jobs interns can perform on campus
  • Step Up hiring and internship timelines and process
  • Time for conversation and Q & A
We're also offering a Zoom option if you can't attend in person. Just register here and we'll share log-in details in a confirmation email closer to the event.

We hope you can join us! For questions, please contact Virajita Singh at [email protected] or Devona Thomas at [email protected].
