Equity and Diversity Breakfast
The University of Minnesota's ninth annual Equity and Diversity Breakfast will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016, 7:45-9:45 AM, at the McNamara Alumni Center. The Breakfast brings together the University community and external stakeholders—alumni, donors, community organizations, and corporate entities—to recognize the students, faculty, and staff doing the work, and to reaffirm the University’s commitment to equity and diversity.
We will also recognize the outstanding students that received Scholarly Excellence in Equity and Diversity (SEED) Awards.
The Outstanding Unit Award for Equity and Diversity will also be presented at the Breakfast.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
We will contact you later in October to let you know if we're able to accommodate your request.
Gallery of Excellence
Since 2012, the annual Gallery of Excellence has highlighted faculty research on issues of diversity and equity in conjunction with the Equity and Diversity Breakfast.
Our faculty engage in innovative, groundbreaking and engaged research that results in transformational scholarship that addresses urgent social issues. The Gallery of Excellence provides an opportunity to showcase University of Minnesota faculty’s research strength and creative capacity that enables the UMN to fulfill its public land-grant mission.
The Office for Equity and Diversity has invited deans from all collegiate units on the Twin Cities, and the Offices of the Chancellor on coordinate campuses, to highlight their faculty’s research as part of the Breakfast’s Gallery of Excellence. Simply stated, we believe diversity drives discovery.
In order to register as an exhibitor in the Gallery of Excellence, faculty members must have received the recommendation of their dean or department head.
