GLBTA International

LGBTQIA International provides specific support and resources for international LGBTQIA students regarding their nationality, cultural background, gender and/or sexual identity on campus. LGBTQIA International programs, events and activities address issues related to international gender and/or sexual minority identities and work to connect international LGBTQIA students with each other.

LGBTQIA International is a collaborative effort between the Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life and International Support & Scholar Services.

One-to-One Mentoring

The Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life's International Student Outreach Intern serves as a mentor and resource for other International LGBTQIA students through one-on-one conversations, email correspondences, and resource and referrals.

International LGBTQIA Student Support Group

The support group is international LGBTQIA students only. It provides a safe space and time for international students to talk about their personal experiences and help and support each other. The support group meets throughout the academic year to create community. Email Peiying Shi for upcoming meetings and events.

Cross-Cultural Discussion Group

The cross-cultural discussion group is held by the International Student and Scholar Services and the Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life. It is a space for international LGBTQIA students to share and discuss their cross-cultural experiences and personal thoughts about sexuality and gender.

Student Survey

The on-going survey is designed to evaluate the campus climax for international LGBTQIA students. The daily issues and necessary resources for international LGBTQIA students may be different from local LGBTQIA students due to cultural, national, or environmental factors. The survey will remain completely anonymous and confidential.

If you're interested in getting involved, please email Peiying Shi.
