Being an ally rquires more than "supporting" LGBTQIA people; it is an active, continuous journey of advocating for the community. Allyship isn't speaking for (or over the voices of) the LGBTQIA community. It is using your voice where LGBTQIA people don't have the agency to speak and interrupting instances of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. It's an ongoing process of self-education without relying on members of the LGBTQIA community to "teach" you about their identities and it's valuing and believing in the identities of others that differ from your own.
