Meet the IDEA Current Faculty Development Fellow

Sean Garrick is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He conducts research in the area of computational fluid dynamics encompasses physical, analytical, and numerical modeling of chemically reacting complex flows.

Garrick was selected as a 2017 Fulbright Scholar. The award by the Fulbright-Saastamoinen Foundation Grant in Health and Environmental Sciences is to study atmospheric aerosols and specifically the effects of turbulence on aerosol formation in the atmosphere. For this study Garrick looks forward to working with scientists whose expertise in physical investigation complements his mathematical modeling and numerical simulation.

All through his undergraduate, graduate and professional experience, Garrick has been involved in mentoring and supporting underrepresented students. He brings this keen interest and long experience, plus his own insights to serve the Institute for Diversity, Equity, and Advocacy as the new Faculty Development Fellow begining in fall of 2016
