Josie R. Johnson Award recipients

The Josie R. Johnson Award was established in honor of Dr. Josie R. Johnson's lifelong contributions to human rights and social justice. The award honors University of Minnesota faculty, staff, and students who, through their principles and practices, exemplify Dr. Johnson’s standard of excellence in creating respectful and inclusive living, learning, and working environments.

Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Endowed Scholarship

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Endowed Scholarship was established in 2008 through a generous gift from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The SMSC scholarship program is designed to recruit and retain talented American Indian students with demonstrated financial need to the University of Minnesota.

Puckett Scholars Program

Drawing of Kirby Puckett at batThe Puckett Scholars Program was created in 1994 by Kirby and Tonya Puckett to provide scholarships for incoming first-year students from Minnesota. Any high school senior from the state of Minnesota who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is eligible to apply for the Puckett Scholars Program.
