Discover Exceptional Women

The Women’s Center, in collaboration with the other campus offices and organizations focused on women's and gender equity, hosts a series of events entitled “Discover Exceptional Women.” The series is designed to engage women students, faculty, staff, students, and members of the community in the wide range of resources, programming, and services available to women at the U.

Professional & Administrative Women’s Council


Established in 2008, the Professional & Administrative (P & A) Women's Council provides leadership to enrich the University environment for P & A women, through professional development, networking and advocacy. We would love to have you join us to help us with our initiatives and to increase our cross-campus networks! 

Professional and Administrative (P & A) Leadership Award


Established in 2012, the Professional and Administrative (P & A) Award annually recognizes members of the campus P& A staff who have made outstanding contributions to improve the work environment for P & A women employees.


This award is made possible by the Women’s Center.

Sara Evans Faculty Woman Scholar / Leader Award


The Sara Evans Faculty Woman Scholar/Leader Award recognizes women faculty at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities who have achieved significant national and international accomplishments and honors and who contribute as leaders on campus.  In addition to supporting outstanding women scholars, this award also reflects the university’s strong commitment to future leaders. This award is sponsored by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Women’s Center.

Mullen/Spector/Truax Women's Leadership Award


The Mullen/Spector/Truax Endowment was established in 1997 to provide funds for the Mullen/Spector/Truax Women’s Leadership Award given annually to a faculty or staff woman at the University who has made outstanding contributions to women’s leadership development. This award honors Patricia Mullen, Janet Spector, and Anne Truax for their contributions to women at the University of Minnesota in their positions in Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action, the Center for Advanced Feminist Studies, and at the Minnesota Women’s Center, respectively.
