Dr. Debra Harry is Numu/Kooyooe tukadu from Pyramid Lake, Nevada. Debra Harry serves as a lecturer for the Gender, Race, and Identity Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has previously served as adjunct faculty to GRI since 2013. Harry's research analyzes the linkages between biotechnology, intellectual property and globalization in relation to indigenous peoples' rights. Harry also teaches online courses for the University of Nevada, Reno, UCLA's Tribal Learning Community and Educational Exchange Program and UC-Denver's Department for Political Science. Harry is Numu (Northern Paiute), Kooyooe Dukaddo, from Pyramid Lake, Nevada.

This event is part of Back to Indigenous Futures A U of M Grand Challenges ProjectThis lecture is presented by the U of M Driving Tomorrow Initiatives--Grand Challenges Research, the Institute for Diversity, Equity, and Advocacy with partnership from the College of Liberal Arts, American Indian Studies (CLA), the College of Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, the College of Education and Human Development, the College of Design, the Center for Sustainable Building Research, and the University of Minnesota Duluth.
