Louis Stokes North Star STEM Alliance

The Louis Stokes North Star STEM Alliance is the Minnesota branch of a nationwide program. In addition to funding from NSF, we also receive funding from 3M to support Southeast Asians and the rest of our cohort. LSMAP provides stipends, travel opportunities, research funding, and more to students who join our cohort. Learn more.

 

Sexual Misconduct Hearing Committee and Hearing Panels (SMHC)

The Sexual Misconduct Hearing Committee (SMHC) is comprised of trained individuals who serve on hearing panels in sexual misconduct cases. Based on the evidence presented at the hearing and other relevant evidence, SMHC panel members determine whether it is more likely than not that a respondent violated the University’s Administrative Policy. Step Up

Step Up is a Twin Cities-based partnership of the City of Minneapolis, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, and the Project for Pride in Living. The Step Up program provides summer internship opportunities for youth ages 14-21 from Minneapolis who have not yet enrolled in a post-secondary opportunity. Step Up has provided more than 34,000 internship opportunities since 2003, including more than 600 at the University of Minnesota, yielding tremendous benefits for young people, businesses, and our regional economy.
