The Vice President in the Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) seeks applications for Faculty Fellows to serve during the 2024-25 academic year to advance our mission to develop, support, and celebrate faculty who advance OED’s priorities to improve campus climate, increase representation, and create partnerships.

Faculty Fellows (25-50%)

Faculty Fellows will identify, create and/or strengthen policies, practices and programs to diversity, inclusion, justice and equity at the University of Minnesota. The work of the faculty fellows will be informed by the Systemwide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Report and the DEI Campus Climate Survey

Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Faculty fellows must be either a faculty member or a contract faculty member who has earned a PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusive excellence.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to collaborate and work well in teams, communicate effectively with various stakeholders, and manage projects/initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated leadership and/or governance experience with a desire to step into significant leadership roles in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diversity, inclusion, justice, and equity initiatives.


The Office for Equity and Diversity will work with each faculty associate’s academic unit to provide support for this work. Start dates can be negotiable depending upon prior commitments and responsibilities of selected candidates.
