- American Indian Environmental Leadership Scholarship
The American Indian Environmental Leadership Scholarship recognizes highly motivated American Indian students with a dedication to protecting natural resources, while serving future generations, their community, and the world. - Josie R. Johnson Human Rights and Social Justice Award
This award was established to recognize Dr. Josie R. Johnson’s lifelong contributions to human rights and social justice. The purpose of this award is to honor University of Minnesota faculty, staff, and students who exemplify Dr. Johnson’s commitment to creating respectful and inclusive living, learning, and working environments. - President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program
The University of Minnesota has joined the University of California Partnership for Faculty Diversity to invite outstanding scholars interested in faculty and research careers. Our goal is to recruit diverse applicants who may be considered for tenure track positions at the University of Minnesota. - Puckett Scholarship
The Puckett Scholarship was created to provide scholarships for incoming first-year students from Minnesota. Preference is given to students of color who demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership and/or community involvement, financial need, and who have excellent potential to succeed at the college level. - Scholarly Excellence in Equity and Diversity (SEED) Award
The Scholarly Excellence in Equity and Diversity (SEED) Awards honor underrepresented undergraduate, graduate, and professional students for their outstanding work in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion while at the University of Minnesota and in the community. - Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Endowed Scholarship
The SMSC Scholarship was established in 2008 through a generous gift from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The SMSC scholarship program is designed to recruit and retain talented American Indian students with demonstrated financial need to the University of Minnesota.

- Campus Climate
The Campus Climate initiative emerged in 2014 as a pressing issue through the Twin Cities campus strategic planning process. In collaboration with campus partners, this initiative aims to create a respectful and inclusive campus for all of our community members. - Circle of Indigenous Nations
The Circle of Indigenous Nations (COIN) is a student support office that advances and advocates for the needs of American Indian/Native American, Alaska Native, and First Nations students at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. - Disability Resource Center
The DRC improves access for people with disabilities in three key ways: determining and implementing reasonable academic, workplace, and guest accommodations; providing education on access and inclusion; and partnering with University offices to ensure meaningful physical and technological access. - Education Program
The Equity and Diversity Education Program offers a comprehensive series of workshops and training programs that are open to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Equity and Diversity Certificate Program allows participants to develop the tools necessary for advancing equity and diversity in all aspects of their personal and professional lives. - Equal Opportunity & Title IX Office
The Equal Opportunity & Title IX Office (EOT) responds to reports of discrimination, sexual misconduct, nepotism, and related retaliation through informal problem-solving or formal investigation. EOT staff members are available to meet with individuals to discuss our processes and receive reports. - Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life
The GSC provides education, advocacy, outreach, and support to students, faculty, staff, and alums. The GSC strives to create a campus climate where more inclusive understandings of gender and sexuality foster a sense of belonging for all. - Louis Stokes North Star STEM Alliance
The North Star STEM Alliance is a partnership of 16 Minnesota colleges and universities and two community organizations (the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Minnesota High Tech Association) committed to supporting underrepresented groups in STEM fields. The Alliance is part of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. - Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE)
MCAE assists students through educational support programs, community engagement, and activities that promote achievement for students from underrepresented communities. - Office for Conflict Resolution (for student employees at the U of M)
The Office for Conflict Resolution (OCR) provides both formal and informal conflict resolution services to non-union-represented University faculty, staff, and students who are experiencing employment-related conflicts. OCR offers confidential consultation, facilitation, mediation, and, for more formal disputes, a peer hearing process. - Sexual Misconduct Hearing Committee and Hearing Panels
The Sexual Misconduct Hearing Committee (SMHC) is comprised of trained individuals who serve on hearing panels in sexual misconduct cases. - Sexual Misconduct Prevention Program
The Sexual Misconduct Prevention Program (SMPP) provides strategic coordination of the University’s sexual misconduct prevention and response activities in partnership with University stakeholders systemwide. - U of M Juneteenth Celebration
Each year, the University of Minnesota hosts a Juneteenth Celebration block party and commemorative march in North Minneapolis. Previous events have featured Black vendors, speakers, workshops, fashion show, storytellers, drumline, musicians, performers, DJs, live screen printing, roller skating, free food, free haircuts, art-making, and more. - Women’s Center
The Women’s Center advances equity for women students, staff, faculty, and alums by offering leadership programs, workshops, and consultations; connecting women to scholarships, organizations, and colleagues; and advocating for organizational change in policies and practices.
